Examples of services and supports provided

The list below demonstrates the range of services and supports that the Fund has provided over recent years. It is not a complete list of provisions but is used for illustrative purposes. The list has been anonymised sufficiently so that individuals cannot be identified.

• Support to individuals accessing non-NHS services or supports.

  • support for people with dementia to attend day activities

  • counselling for individuals

  • specialist treatments for disabled people.

 

• Support for community groups providing health and wellbeing-related activities. Organisations currently supported include:

  • Music in Mind (Wedmore) and Music Matters (Axbridge), for people with dementia and their carers

  • Sing2Breathe – for people with respiratory disorders

  • Weston Hospicecare, for people with terminal conditions

  • HeadsUp (Wedmore) for carers

 

• Health-related equipment the NHS cannot fund

• defibrillators for communities in Wedmore and Axbridge

• specialist mattresses for the hospice

• wheelchairs and stair lifts.

 

• Equipment to the GP surgery to help the Practice team to provide a better service

  • specialist eye examination equipment

  • ambulatory blood pressure monitoring machines

  • weighing scales.
